The birds are chirping, the weather is warming up, and the sun is shining! So you know what that means, springtime has arrived! As we start to venture out more and more, I thought why not share some of my favorite #DoItDenton Date spots! Whether you’re a fan of quirky, classic, or adventurous, there is a Denton Date out there for you!
My husband and I love having a Denton Date Day. Saturday’s are our usual days where we grab a quick bite at Jupiter House, and then venture out onto the square for some exploring. Some of my favorite spots though are just off the square. From the one of a kind Chairy Orchard, down to the Farmers Market, there’s a little bit of romance everywhere!

Chairy Orchard
This is a Denton favorite! The Chairy Orchard is a large lot located in north Denton right off of Windsor road. Nestled in the backyards of long time friends, you won’t want to miss this whimsical wonderland! What makes this the perfect #Dentoning Date? The whimsical assortment of chairs of course! Created by two friends Judy Smith of Anne Pearso in 2015, the Chairy Orchard has been stealing hearts of Dentonites all over.
The lot is free to enter and you’re able to sit and lounge on any of the chairs. (Watch out though! Some are not as sturdy as they appear!) Many people bring picnics to enjoy an afternoon outside under the oak trees, or hold photography sessions in the orchard. The “Chairy Fairies” as they’re known, encourage all sorts of fun activities in the little park. From picnics, birthday parties, and even weddings! You’re sure to have a real Denton Date when you visit the Chairy Orchard! You can find more on. their Facebook page here!
Picnic on the Courthouse Lawn
Whether you are lounging in the evening for Twilight Tunes, or are enjoying the afternoon sun on the lawn, this Denton Date Idea is for those of you who just like to take it slow! Snag a to go order from the countless restaurants, set up a blanket under one of the massive oak trees, and viola! The perfect afternoon! Round out the date with homemade ice cream from Beth Maries and that’s how you #DoItDenton!
Sometimes though, a picnic is more fun when there is music involved! One of the unique things Denton does is Twilight Tunes every Thursday night form April-June. This year they mixed it up and are hosting Twilight Tunes virtually! You can check out a list of Denton Restaurants delivering from the Ding Dong Dining post, throw a blanket out on the lawn, and enjoy Twilight Tunes right in the comfort of your own home! Now that’s a #DoItDenton date night!
Denton Community Market
The first market this year will be May 23rd and I could not be happier! The Community market is the perfect #DoItDenton Date, filled with food, shopping, and local treasures like homemade Jams, pottery, roasted coffee, and more! I could (and have) spend hours walking around picking the best produce I have seen for my weekly meal preps! Located adjacent to the historical CHO museum and Texas Master Gardens, you can buy a loaf of bread, local cheese, fruits and vegetables and have yourself a picnic after a morning at the market!
Can you tell I love picnics? What’s better than a sweet romantic stroll through the famers market, chatting about what you like to cook, choosing the freshest ingredients for a romantic dinner in, or just to get to know your town a little more! The Denton Community Market is a staple for us in Denton, and every season I love just wandering the stalls, gathering some amazing produce and food for my weekly meals! Plus, nothing is hotter than supporting local, am I right ladies?! 😉 You can check out a full list of vendors and Market hours on their website here! Plus you may even see a familiar face a little later this year 😋
