Hello babes and happy Sunday! Have you been following along on instagram this past week and seen my stories about the Vetta Capsule Challenge? Or maybe you’ve seen my post where I shared that I got my first capsule wardrobe! Quite possibly this could be the first time you’re even hearing about my challenge. And that’s OK! I am here today to share with you the who, what, and why of the challenge I have accepted, completely on my own, to wear and experience what’s called a capsule wardrobe for the next 30 days.
A new survey found that the average American will toss out 81 pounds of clothing this year. That amounts to 26 billion pounds of textiles and clothes ending up in landfills – but it doesn’t have to”Huffington Post

Fast Fashion is not only about quickly moving from runway to store to consumer, but also to the garbage.
The term “capsule wardrobe” was coined by London Boutique owner Susie Faux. What she believed to be the perfect capsule wardrobe was items such as trousers, blouses, skirts, coats, and suiting. And honestly, that’s really all you need in a wardrobe! Traditional capsule wardrobe’s have 30 pieces, and can make a variety of outfits ranging from casual day wear to business pieces. Vetta Capsule strives to help you grow your wardrobe to sustainable capsule wardrobe, by offering the 5 basic starter essentials in each collection!
This has been such an eye opening challenge for me because I have had such an easy time pairing these pieces together. It has really shown me that I don’t need a huge wardrobe to have fun with my style. Having a closet with a few versatile pieces is honestly more exciting to me now than a closet full of one time wears! Vetta capsule has expertly crafted their capsules to fit perfectly in your current wardrobe, or let you start building your capsule wardrobe of your dreams! This whole time I haven’t worried once about “what will people thing of me wearing the same top twice in a week”, because it’s that versatile! (Plus I don’t think anyone pays that much attention besides my hubby!)
Doubling the useful life of clothing from one year to two years reduces emissions over the year by 24%.Sustainable Fashion Matters
It’s no secret that our earth is in a crisis. With growing landfills, fast fashion demands, and population. Earth is struggling to keep up. This year one of my goals was to try to live a better sustainable lifestyle. From the food I eat, to the clothes I wear, I want to help better the planet for future generations.
Building a capsule closet isn’t a new concept, but it’s still terrifying! Especially when you’re a fashion blogger! But the message and efforts made to save our planet are honestly more important to me than any numbers on social media. We only have one planet, so lets make an effort to keep it clean and healthy for generations to come!
