Hello loves and welcome back to the blog! Who else here has been sweltering under these hot Texas days?! If I can’t get my errands done by noon these days, they probably don’t happen because its like a sauna out here!
But never fear, I’ve still got plans up my sleeve for summertime fun! From taking photos at all of the iconic 90’s hot spots, drinking Vietnamese Coffee under an umbrella, to playing a life size game of pool, I am doing THE MOST this summer! All without even going outside, can you believe it?! I wanted to share with you my top 3 places in DFW to beat the heat this summer, but still make summer memories!
I believe that without memories there is no life, and that our memories should be of happy times

Beat the heat like the locals do…
By starting your weekend out right and head to Andy B’s Denton! They newest location is chocked full of summer fun activities that the whole family can enjoy. From VR video games where you fight off dragons or zombies, to a multi level laser tag room. Andy B’s has family game night covered! Feeling sporty? they have not one, but TWO sides of bowling alleys! Put your skills to the test and challenge friends for an unforgettable bowling match you’ll definitely still be talking about when finals roll around! Worried that you’ll have to catch dinner afterwards? Check out Andy B’s full menu of scratch kitchen inspired appetizers and entree’s! My favorite is the charcuterie board! It’s filled with delicious pimento cheese spread, candied bacon, pita chips, and so much more tasty treats! Top off your stay with one of their 16 flavors of gelato for the kids, and a summer cocktail for the adults! Feeling sporty? they have not one, but TWO sides of bowling alleys! Put your skills to the test and challenge friends for an unforgettable bowling match you’ll definitely still be talking about when finals roll around!
Andy B’s is located in the new area of Rayzor Ranch just next to the Embassy Suits Hotel. With plenty of parking and easy Uber access, you’re sure to make some amazing summer memories!
If you’re looking for a tasty after pool treat…
Sharetea is where you know I’ll be! Whether you’re tired of hanging by the pool, need a change of scenery, or you want a unique coffee shop vibe, Sharetea has it! With traditional milk tea styles, all the way down to a Denton original drink topped with Beth Maries Ice Cream! We tried the kiwi fruit tea with Aiyu Jelly for a refreshing summer tea, then we tried a classic pearl black milk tea, and ended it all with strawberry ice with the Denton Original, the lychee jelly and ice cream! Sharetea has taken the roots of their flagship store in Taipei, Tiawan, and merged it perfectly with the Denton vibes. They specialize in making “pearl tea” the traditional way! In fact, they even trained with a master pearl tea maker on how to make the tea’s for two weeks! If you’re feeling adventurous this summer, I suggest trying the red bean matcha. This is a traditional take on a matcha latte! Definitely not for everyone, but if you want to try something traditional, I actually really enjoyed it! Though, if you’re not feeling crazy, grab one of their top ten drinks that we tried! Sharetea is a must visit if you’re a fan of all things pearl/boba tea!
Need to have a break from the video games, (or just a break in general?) Sharetea Denton has a whole corner dedicated to board games and relaxing! Channel the good ole days with some monopoly, uno card games, or maybe a puzzle while you enjoy your refreshing traditional pearl tea! So grab your pool buddy and skip the sun bathing for an afternoon and enjoy a cold one with Sharetea Denton!
Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you’re gonna get!

The 90’s called…
And they want you back! Hey Museum of Memories is the raddest place to be this summer! All curated by Dallas artist @haveanicedayy_, it is a massive blast from the past with iconic things like lucky charms cereal, Mean Girls quotes, fuzzy pens and secret diaries, and so much more! If you’re a 90’s baby, were a teen in the 90’s, or just appreciate the most iconic decade ever, this is your chance to relive your totally tubular days! Probably one of my fav things about Hey Museum of Memories is probably the attention to detail the artist has put in! She thought of all of the iconic quotes, feelings, and nostalgia in one exhibit! The wide range of rooms also blew me away! Usually, these exhibits have about 5-6 rooms and you’re in and out. Well, M.O.M has 15+ rooms to take pictures in. And all of them are filled to the brim with 90’s vibes! You’ll be saying BOO-YA the whole way through the exhibit!
Want to host a family photo session here? They’ve got all you need to do that! Complete with upstairs bathrooms with stalls for changing privacy. And they’re photographer friendly! Just cover their ticket and boom! You’ve got the family photoshoot of a lifetime!
Beating the heat has never been better!
Trust me when I say, these are the ways Fielder and I have been beating the heat all summer. And we didn’t even have to sacrifice any fun! So gather the gang for a bowling match, rally the troops for a tea run, or call up your childhood friend and relive the memories. Any route you go, there’s sure to be an adventure waiting fo you at the end! And the best part? You’re supporting a local franchise and business, which means everyone wins! And that’s totally tubular man!
