Happy weekend loves!
So last weekend I had the pleasure of checking in at the Sweet Tooth Hotel in Dallas for a little R and R time, surrounded by candy, art, and a sweeter than cotton candy fiance! We had so much fun exploring the exhibit which was filled with local and international artists like Goodies Cakery, Chelsea Delzell, Jeremy Biggers, and so many more TALENTED artists!! So, today I am here to share with you my thoughts and experiences at The Sweet Tooth Hotel art instillation!
What is this candy heaven?!
The Sweet Tooth Hotel is a giant art instillation spanning 1,200 SF with 5 different themed rooms with 8 major art instillations inside. This is an experimental art and retail pop up that is the brain child of Jencey and Cole Keeton. This art exhibit is unlike any other I have ever been to, because you can touch, play, move, and literally crawl inside of the art! The Sweet Tooth Hotel features artisans like Built By Bender, and major artists like Jeremy Biggers, Dani Goodman, and so many more!
So theres just five rooms in this hotel?
When I walked in, I do have to admit I was shocked at how small the whole exhibit was! I was expecting a massive hotel filled with candy creations and crazy fun house like things around every corner. And while yes, this was like a super fun house, the amount of art that was jammed into 1200 SF amazed me! They squeeze 8 major art instillations into 5 rooms. The Sunset Lounge, Bathroom, Bedroom, Kitchen, and Hallways are the rooms in the exhibit. And each one is filled to the brim with colors, textures, lights, and CANDY! Its a sugarholics dream!
So what is the art then?
The 8 instillations titled (in order of appearance) are Sunset Lounge, Sprinkle tea, Horizon, Candy Paint Drippin, Rainbow Confection, Dream Suite, Candy Cuisine, and Surprise! So yeah, definitely A LOT going on and a lot happening around every corner! My favorite piece had to have been Rainbow Confection by Shamsy Roomiani. Basically, this piece was thunderclouds that looked like cotton candy and you got to scream at them and they would look like a lightning storm was going off. The louder you screamed, the brighter they got! I was *almost* screaming at these lights. And I am SO sorry to all the people in that exhibit because they probably hated me after it!
How do I get tickets?!
So..this is the fun part. There are only 4 days left, yes I am serious, 4 DAYS left open for check in. Monday August 13-Thursday August 16. Thats it. This is the LAST CHANCE to see this sugary sweet wonder roll through Dallas!! Tickets are $20 for one hour check in and trust me, it is so worth it! Find all the tickets here at Sweet Tooth Hotel Website! You won’t want to miss it TRUST ME!
