Happy Spring Loves!
It is finally warmer weather, sunshine, and going outside season! I wanted to share with you today my absolute favorite places in DFW to visit and hang out at! For me, these places are so unique and truly represent how diverse and fun DFW is! So, if you’re ready for a staycation, or looking for a place to hang out one afternoon, I’ve got yo covered!
Texas Tulips- Pilot Point, TX
Entry fee $5, Tulips $2.50 a stem
A quick 30 minute drive from Denton will bring you to a field of tulips, specifically the Texas Tulip Farm! This gem has been open for 3 years and started by a Holland Tulip Farmer who was in search of the best tulip growing soil in the US, and found it here! People love coming and taking family pictures, engagement pictures, baby announcements, senior picture, just about any pictures here! And for flower enthusiasts (like MEE!) its a great place to just get lost in the beauty of tulips! There is a $5 entry fee but trust me, it is so worth is!
Fort Worth Water Gardens- Fort Worth, TX
Entry Fee FREE!
Sometimes, Texas likes to bring us a taste of summer a little early, am I right? On those days, you can head on down to the Fort Worth Water Gardens for a refreshing afternoon stroll! These cascading waterfalls are perfect for a you to go by yourself, or bring your crew out for a fun afternoon! And since it is located downtown, there are tons of surrounding places to eat and enjoy for a great staycation!
Nasher Sculpture Gardens- Dallas, TX
Entry Fee $10 Adult $5 Student
This is one of my favorite places to hang out at when I have a whole day in Dallas. The Nasher Sculpture Gardens have such interesting pieces of art on their lawn, its hard not to stare! They also host really cool events like concerts and movies on the lawn! Just check out their calendar and see what is coming up! The events make for a great date night or girls night out! It is also right next to my absolute favorite food truck spot, klyde warren park! So stop in and fill your belly, then walk right across the street and see the sculpture gardens!
The Chairy Orchard- Denton, TX
Entry fee FREE
A Denton classic, full of whimsical fairytales and or course, CHAIRS! If you love unique and interesting things, this is the perfect afternoon getaway for you! Located in a little backyard, this unique and clearly denton place is a perfect place to see in spring! Also it is another great picture location in Denton or just a fun afternoon hangout spot! But be warned, sit in chairs at your own risk! Some of them have been well loved over the years and are starting to need a little less love than some of the newer chairs in the orchard!
The Denton Square- Denton, TX
Entry Fee Varies (free-$$$)
This hang out spot almost needs a whole post of its own! With some of my favorites being West Oak, Amyx Fine Jewelry, Barley and Board, Beth Maries, Recycled Books, and the record store, its hard NOT to spend all day here! You can be a high roller and have a fancy afternoon out, eating brunch at Barley and Board, shopping at JT Clothiers, ice cream at Beth Maries, and afternoon coffee at West Oak. Or go the classic Denton route and eat at Cartwrights, hit up Recycled Book Store and Mini Mall 2.0, then sodas from the Atomic candy store! Thats what I love about my town, you have so many options and you can tailor it to your tastes!
Be sure to watch your emails love! I’ve got some exciting things coming up in April that I have been DYING to share with you all! If you’re not subscribed, its on the top right side of your browser!
XOXO, D.
