Gobble Gobble little turkeys!!
Happy (early) Thanksgiving! The forgotten holiday between Halloween and Christmas, or at least nowadays. This is the season of getting the family together, eating too much food (turkey coma anyone?), Macy’s Day Parade, and if you’re brave, black Friday. So, to me staying fashionably comfortable this holiday season is a MUST! I am here to wash all your worries away with some comfortable holiday fashions that can be worn around your family or even meeting the family!
Chunky Sweaters
I’m talking about those big chunky cable knits that remind you of grandma’s blankets that are always by the fire. Whether it has a turtle neck, cowled neckline, dress, or oversized, chunky sweaters are a great accessory to your holiday dinner parties. They are so versatile, which is what I love. You can dress them up with some nice slacks and comfortable heels or booties, and then they even hide your food baby! Then, for black Friday, throw on your adidas tennies and leggings and slay the Christmas shopping.
My favorite stores for this look would have to be urban outfitters, Forever21, and GAP.
The shawl
Those ones that your mom wears that look like a blanket, yes they are so back in style! I mean why wouldn’t you wear a socially acceptable blanket all day?! These puppies look fabulous over a button down, long sleeve, turtle neck, simple jackets, the versatility of them blows me away! I usually pair mine with knee high boots, jeans, turtle neck, then a large statement necklace. It is a simple outfit that is easily dressed up and a great holiday on the fly piece to have.
You may have to venture to a mall to find yourself one suitable for your closet, but stores like Macy’s, JCPenny, and Target are perfect places to find a great comfortable holiday shawl.
The T-shirt Dress
If your closet looks like mine, you probably have 4 or five t-shirt dresses of all sorts of cuts and colors that you wear on the fly. Well, for Thanksgiving, throw one of those bad boys on with a pop of color scarf, knee high boots with your favorite boot socks, and own thanksgiving dinner this holiday! I love the simplicity of this outfit, and the fact that you probably already have this in your closet.
You can find a t-shirt dress at any fast fashion retailer, but my favorite is ALWAYS Old Navy! Their selection does not compare to any store on the market.
As always, tag your Thanksgiving looks this holiday with the #MyDDiary so I can follow all you guys on social media! Be sure to follow and subscribe to emails and updates if you love what you are reading!
