Hallo von Berlin meine Liebe!
This weekend had the wonderful chance to go to Berlin! I was keeping an eye out for the latest European fashion trend to share with you guys. Trend alert! It’s culottes!! “You mean those high water pants with the wide leg my grandma used to wear?” Yes! But here, I’m going to share with you all how they wear them in Berlin.
Wear culottes high waisted to accent and lengthen your legs.
That’s right, a good high waisted culotte will lengthen your legs a bit and make you seem taller. I also think a good high waisted pant will make you look refreshed, like you are a powerful woman but still a little flirty and fun.
Good places to find high waisted culottes would be topshop and GAP.
Cropped culottes with tennis shoes is best.
Dust off your 90s adidas and new balance shoes, they’re back in style. Fashion it girls across Europe wear these with just about any outfit. This surprisingly chic pairing fits perfectly into the lifestyle of day to day here in Berlin. After running to busses, trains, and just running in general, I understand why the heels are out and the 90s are back in full swing.
But you can still be flirty and fun with the cropped culottes. Again, just that peek of ankle elongates the leg just enough for a chic classy look, and the tennis shoes dress it down for a more day to day look.
A matching belt keeps the culotte look clean and fresh.
By matching a belt to the color of your culottes, you keep the business chic look flowing through your outfit. It’s simple accessories like this that really make the culotte look complete.
My favorite that I have seen would have to be matching belts with the culotte piping up over the belt in a little ruffle. A feminine accent to the whole look.
Tie the look together with a cardi, boyfriend fit shirt, and shopper tote.
Now you’d fit right into the streets of Berlin! Culottes are very business casual. Especially floor length ones, so to counteract this, pairing your culottes with a soft boyfriend tee, long cardi, and a shopper totes ties the look together completely!
