Hello loves!
I will be hopping the pond to take a trip to visit my German sister Franzi! We’ve known each other since high school where we met in an exchange program and hit it off! If there was a German version of me it’s her y’all.
Anyways!
So the flight I chose will be a nonstop flight which was just about 12 hours. Yes, 12 hours. I’ve done this flight twice now, but both times I had a pit stop. This trip I prepared a little differently. I added some things to my travel carryon I wouldn’t normally add. So, if you yourself are going to hop the pond soon or take a long flight, here is what I recommend you throw in your travel bag!
Tote bag with a zipper
It can easily hold everything you need in your carryon in one convenient place. Throw over your shoulder and race to your gate with ease. TSA is also easier to swing in and out of when you can just shove it all back in later. The zipper part is for just in case your bag toppled up in the over head bin, you won’t loose anything!
Super cute perfect size travel tote from old navy!
Slip on shoes for TSA
Because who wants to be stuck in TSA longer than they have to. Swing in and out by wearing mules, sandals, or some kind of slip on shoe. Trust me, don’t be that person.
REVOLVE Starlet flat, perfect easy on off for TSA!
Portable charger and charging cords
We live in the 21st century where our lives revolve around our technology. Heck, I use my Apple Watch to scan into flights now! Having a charger is easy and accessible at all times for those oops I’m at 10% moments.
Headphones
Because who wants to hear the screaming baby in the back row or that one passenger talking way too loud the whole flight? Be sure to pack your traditional corded headphones too (the ones that came with your phone, yes, dust them off sugar) If you’re like me, your luck will be your Bluetooth headphones will die and you’ll be stuck with the different airplane issues ones
Socks and a cardigan in case you get chilly
I always throw these into my carryon bag because you never know with planes if it will be hot or cold! It’s safe to just assume cold and be prepared. Comfy wool socks and a plushy cardigan make any ride enjoyable. You can even bring a scarf if it is that time of year for it!
Perfect comfort pair, brought to you by Amazon and Timberland
A small makeup bag for refreshing yourself before you land
Powder, mascara, tooth brush and paste, lipgloss are always in my bag. Even just on the day to day basis I have these items. Chances are you’ll be jet lagged, sore, probably not smelling great either. Being able to refresh will make you feel rejuvenated before you step off to your final destination
Kat Von D powder, bee you moisturizer, colour pop nude glossy lip, tooth brush and tooth paste.
These are my go to items and tips for any and every flight I take! But especially my international flights. Tag me with the hashtag#MyDDiary to show me what’s in your carryon bag!!
XOXO, D.
